SEPTSA MISSION STATEMENT (January 2026)
The East Aurora Special Education Parent, Teacher, and Student Association (SEPTSA) is a community of families, students, educators, and community members dedicated to fostering awareness, acceptance, and connection, while supporting the educational success, health, and well-being of all students. By empowering caregivers with resources and support and thoughtfully advocating for the experiences of all children, we seek to build an inclusive culture where every child has the opportunity to learn, thrive, and belong. Our work is guided by four focus areas:
1. Awareness & Acceptance
Promote positive conversations that build understanding, equitable access, and inclusion. Work to ensure all students are considered in school and community activities.
2. Connection & Community
Create spaces for caregivers to share experiences, offer mentorship, and find support. Strengthen connections among families, schools, and community partners.
3. Advocacy & Empowerment
Advocate alongside families of students with unique needs at the individual, district, and community levels. Partner with district and community leadership to influence relevant policies and practices.
4. Education & Support
Offer resources that educate parents, leaders, and community members. Collaborate with decision-makers to provide enrichment opportunities that enable all students to excel to their highest personal levels.
