The East Aurora Special Education Parent Teacher and Student Association (SEPTSA) is a community of families, students, and educators and community members dedicated to fostering awareness, acceptance, and connection. Empowering caregivers with resources and support, and thoughtfully advocating for the needs of all learners, together we seek to build an inclusive culture where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
1. Awareness & Acceptance
Promote positive conversations that build understanding and inclusion across the district. Work to ensure ALL students are considered in school-sponsored activities.
2. Connection & Community
Create spaces for caregivers to share experiences, offer mentorship, and find support. Strengthen connections among families, schools, and community partners through events, clubs, and shared initiatives.
3. Advocacy & Empowerment
Serve as a thoughtful voice for students with unique needs at both the individual and district level. Provide families with tools and confidence to advocate for their children. Partner with district leadership to influence relevant policies and practices.
4. Education & Support
Offer resources through a website, meetings, and workshops that support problem-solving and growth. Balance formal presentations with open discussions to address family needs in real time. Develop enrichment opportunities for all students to excel to their highest personal levels.
